what to expect:

My studio newborn sessions are very relaxed with your babies comfort always front of mind. I will pose your little one, to get those angles and the light to flatter them (and you), but these poses are always very gentle, and baby led. I'll also be very mindful to intentionally capture all those in-between 'non perfect' moments that help tell your story too. Giving you a final gallery that is both flattering and natural.

All babies and family dynamics are different, so we'll always just go with the flow and work with however your baby (or toddler) is on the day.

But my focus is always to get a family photo, sibling photo and a few parent photos before focusing solely on your little one.

I have everything you need. Beautiful, neutral and timeless wraps for bub, an extensive client wardrobe with beautiful gowns and shirts to wear when nothing quite fits in that tender postpartum time. Refreshments, wifi and even toys for toddlers.

You can expect a studio newborn session to last anywhere from 1.5-3 hours. Although all babies are unique. So some will settle super easily, and some babies will need a lot more time to feed and settle. I'll always block out a 3 hour window in my calendar so you can relax knowing there's never any need to rush.

So leave the mess at home, and come celebrate this precious milestone in your life in this beautiful space.

My newborn session fee's start at $299 and image packages start at $599.

Most clients will invest around $1499.

All sessions include full access to my client wardrobe and all image packages include 6x4" prints + optional retouching services.

I also offer additional high quality print add ons for those that want to save themselves the time and hassle of doing it themselves.

For a full price list and to check availability please get in touch, I'd love to document this precious time for you!

When is the best time to book in?

Spaces are limited so to ensure you don't miss out, you're best to book in as soon as possible or once you've reached your second trimester. Spaces are limited to ensure you don't miss out. We'll book you in using your estimated due date and we'll finalise the date of the session once your baby has arrived.

WHEN IS the best time to do a newborn session?

The first few weeks are best - if possible. As baby is usually a little more sleepy and easier to settle meaning we can get more wrapped and close up detailed shots. However - sometimes this isn't possible. And that's okay, because EVERY stage of your babies journey is worth documenting. They will always be growing, so you will always look back and be glad you captured this time no matter what age your baby is. (You can also view some of my newborn galleries in my blog to see what a session with an older baby might look like)

What if my baby is older?

Maybe a photoshoot was the last thing on your mind with all the challenges that having a baby can bring, but now you've seen how fast they're growing and changing and realise you really want to capture this! Newborn sessions will be perfect for up to 2 months old. After this time, we won't be focussing on trying to do any wrapping or sleeping photos so will book you in for a "milestone" session instead.

Do you use props?

I like to keep things minimal and timeless. These will be your forever photo's. So when I'm taking the photo's of just your baby, I will use a very neutral colour palette so the focus and details are of them. I'm definitely more than happy to include some special taonga/blankets in some of your images though, so just let me know if this is something you would like when filling out your questionnaire.

What if my baby doesn't settle?

I have my tricks - but my style is very relaxed and baby led. So we will always just work with how your baby is on the day. If your little one is struggling with digestive discomforts or just isn't wanting to sleep - we'll simply keep them tucked up on mum or dad's chest for the majority of the session, where they'll likely be happiest, which will still get you a full gallery of beautiful images.
