I often find that people don’t think they’d want their birth captured, only to realise afterwards that having these photographs would have been priceless. You literally spend months, if not years preparing yourself for the day you give birth, and then usually, in less than 24hrs, one of your most life changing moments is over.

Before you know it, this precious moment is now quickly turning into a distant, fading memory.

I can help you hold onto all the precious details of this moment for the rest of your life.

01 / 24

I know that you may be worried about someone else being in your birth space, seeing you naked, or worse, what if you poo?

Birth photographers however, just like any other birth worker, are not judging you and we totally get how vulnerable you may be feeling.

You can feel at ease knowing that we have seen plenty of naked women, crowning vaginas, pubes, blood, poo and buttholes before. Your naked body is nothing new to us, and nothing to be embarrassed about. It is all a part of birth and if we weren’t comfortable with it, we wouldn’t be in this line of photography or work.

And at the end of the day, no one else needs to see these images but you.

Having an experienced birth photographer present in your birth space is about so much more than just capturing crowning vagina's too. We're there to document this day for your partner and ensure that instead of being the one taking the photo's, that they are present and remembered in this story as well.

We also know birth. So we know how to read a room and stay calm. Having us there can be the extra support you, your partner or family never knew you needed in your birth space.

"You were way more than someone who was just taking my photos. You were there, helping me out of the tub. You were there, reassuring me my baby would be fine when I was so scared she wouldn’t be. You were there helping me in the shower. You were there putting pads in my undies. You were there offering me sweet treats to keep my energy up. You were also there capturing such a special and powerful moment in our lives. You are SO much more than a photographer and I’ll NEVER forget the love and care you gave me during my birth."

There is no obligation to pay anything before this meeting. After the meeting, if you decide you'd like to go ahead, you pay the $500 booking fee and sign the contract and we're locked in!

FAQ

How soon should I book in?

ASAP. As I'll only take on two births a month and these spots fill up fast. Booking in early also give you plenty of time to pay off your packages. In fact, I'm often one of the first people to find out about some babies 😍If you're worried about miscarriage etc, please know that you will definitely be entitled to a full refund x

Do you only do water births?

Definitely not! I photograph and support ALL births. I'm even keen to photograph more caesareans! The hospitals very rarely allow this, but the more we keep asking for it the closer we might get to making this happen. So still contact me anyway and we can chat!

What if my birth plan changes and I have to go to hospital?

I will be there and adapt with you. So if we start at a birth centre then move to the hospital then I'll follow you there. There are however more restrictions in a hospital environment which we will discuss in our one on one catch up.

Do you photograph everything?

I photograph as much as I can, but only if that's what you want. We will discuss in further detail when we meet what your wishes are. However, no one has to see your birth gallery! These images will 100% stay private if that is your wish.

What if I end up needing an emergency c-section?

Unfortunately, at this stage, I can't photograph c-sections. We will still try! But the chances are VERY slim. So if you get transferred for one I'll book you in for a newborn session to complete your birth story. We can however look at options where your husband or midwife take my camera into theatre and I still edit the footage for you. We'll discuss all of this when we catch up in person.

What if I have baby early or you can't be there due to a medical emergency?

I'll still try make it if I can! I've attended a baby born at 34 weeks before! We'll definitely discuss this in further detail at our in person catch up though.

What if I poo?

Then we can celebrate! Cause this means baby is CLOSE 😍😍 hahahaha. No seriously though. This is NOT something you have to worry about. A little bit of poo is totally normal as baby lowers down into your pelvis. Your midwives will generally be very good at getting rid of any before anyone notices and if not, I do know how to use photoshop. Although, I also know how to get good angles to avoid anything like that if needed. This is why you hire the professional right?
